Default I just had a hysterectomy and I am wanting to know when I can take a bath?

had it on the 5th..I have stitches in places I won't mention...I hate showers...I have been very compliant with Dr. orders but I really need a long soak in the tub...I love my bubbles, oils, perfumes and powders..do you think it would be OK..at least once?
I do shower daily and wipe down with jean nate after bath through out the day..I'm just being a baby and I want a bath.

baths are fine as long as you don't use any additives. people tend to shy away from baths but if you had your surgery on the 5th, things should be healed enough to have a nice soak. warm soaks will help the healing process as well.if you are really concerned about when you are able to do so, i would just call the doc's office and ask a nurse, they will most likely be able to give you an answer right away.

A short bath with no oils, soaps ... etc would be fine. Don't soak too long and no additives!

No oils, soaps or any other additives and half an hour in the bath should be fine. A little salt in the water would be a good idea though. Just pat down to dry and do not rub.

The most important thing after an hysterectomy is to get motivated and get up and about and aim to be back as a fit an active woman as soon as you feel able.

Sounds like you may well be well on the way to getting back to good health and fitness.

Good luck!

best have a shower if you feel you need all over body cleansing =the Dr .will tell you when you can start having baths again=you surely don't want to get infection where the stitches are
