Default My wife had a hysterectomy and is on meds for horomone loss. she lost her Libido...

...now ,what can I do? She has tried other meds. But most of them give her hot flashes. But the sex drive is nill now. Its usually Saturday nights and at bedtime and I better hurry up because she is not interested anymore. We talked about it and she just says she doesnt like sex anymore. We tried therapy , same thing she said to the therapist. she doesnt care for sex anymore. Is there any meds that she can get thru her Dr. to increase her libido. I do everything for her I watch the kids, I cook, clean, do laundry etc.

She should seek the advice of a specialist. Possibly a GYN who specializes in this sort of thing after a hysterectomy. Also, have you tried going to therapy together. Maybe there is more to it then her having a hysterectomy?

Tell her she's beautiful and that you love her. Plan a romantic evening and if IT doesn't happen don't despair, you have to work at it. A histerectomy is very hard on some women as the perception of no longer being a normal woman and lacking sex appeal. Be patient. Good Luck.

Medications are available, but what my husband and I have found to be the best is "TIME", go back to basic, sometimes it will be a home run for you both, sometimes just for one of you, but both have to want to get it back. Sometimes take showers together, not for sex, but for fore play, sex may come maybe a day later, just spend time together, put those kids to bed and have a glass of wine, relax and let things naturally take there course. After a hysterectomy things are just different and they are comparable to a man losing his prostate. So just hang in there, try some new/old things.

Sometimes its a matter of getting the hormones adjusted just right. It took me well over a year to hit upon the right dosage of the right thing. Now my libido is back to normal and other than the usual timing issues, my husband and I are in sync again.

Please understand that sometimes after a woman has had a hysterectomy she may have a lot of issues with still feeling feminine and desirable. There also could be pain issues depending on how well she healed inside. And it can take months after the surgery before she may really feel good again. Try to be patient and good luck!

As hard as it may sound, I think that you should take the pressure off. Women get pressure to perform just as much as men, or should I say, pressure to get into it. As far as the hormones go, maybe the doctors can get her on something that gets them going again. What works for me is eye contact, kissing, and just being made to feel good and relaxed. The last thing she needs is to be made to feel obligated when she doesn't really want to. I think you've made your wants and needs known to her, she just needs to feel she's appreciated.
