A friend of mine is having hysterectomy surgery, and I'm wondering what kind of food I can bring to her while she's recovering from surgery. Are there any known restrictions, or can I just bring her whatever she wants (within reason)?

It depends on how long ago she had it. If she just had it I would wait a few days. With most surgerys like that they end up being on a light diet for a couple days and then can eat what they want within reason.

Always after any surgery it is best to have foods that are not too herby or spicy and foods that can also be good for bowel movement as one isn't very mobile afte surgery. Courgettes and potatoes par boiled and souteed in olive oil are a good comfort food and also assist in good bowel movement.
