Default had hysterectomy at 30 yrs. am now 71 yrs old and am spotting bright red...

...blood from vagina. What can cause it? am extremely healthy so far. do not drink and quit smoking 2 yrs. ago. The brightness of the blood startled me. In 40 yrs. have never had this problem.Wondering what could cause it.

I don't know what would cause the blood, but you must absolutely see your doctor. I too had a hysterectomy and was told that blood was one reason to contact the doctor or go to the hospital. Good luck.
