Default Hysterectomy questions?

It seems as though I keep hearing of so many peope I know needing hysterectomy. What leads to this? The one thing I seem to see that these people have in common is the fact that they had thier tubes tied years before. I worry because I am 29 yrs old and had my tubes tied at 25 yrs old. Does that lead to a hysterectomy? When someone does have a hysterectomy will they be on hormone pills?

I had a hysterectomy at 28 due to ovarian cysts. Afte surgery the doctor put me on a hormone patch called Vivel and it was simple and easy to use. however when you decide to do the surgery..avoid chocolate as it is no longer your friend! Does evil things to your moods! But afterwards it is ok living with it. I don't miss the periods an stuff! Good luck!

A hysterectomy is an operation to remove a woman's uterus (womb). The uterus is where a baby grows when a woman is pregnant. In some cases, the ovaries and fallopian tubes also are removed. These organs are located in a woman’s lower abdomen. The cervix is the lower end of the uterus. The ovaries are organs that produce eggs and hormones. The fallopian tubes carry eggs from the ovaries to the uterus.Ask your doctor if you need to have periodic Pap tests. Regardless of whether you need a Pap test or not, all women who have had a hysterectomy must continue to have regular gynecologic exams.Keep in mind that every woman is different and every situation is different. A good treatment choice for one woman may not be good for another
