Default I never want kids...hysterectomy???

I am 26 years old and do not ever want kids (110 percent sure). Can I get a procedure to ensure I never have them and simultaneously quit getting my period? I want to do it primarily to stop getting my period... (please don't answer that at 26 years old I cannot be sure i don't want kids...) What are the risks of the procedures I can have etc... I want to quit getting my period.

oblation, I'm not sure if I spelled it right but it's where they burn out the lining of your uterus so you no longer have periods but your bladder doesn't fall and cause other problems because your uterus is still there, they would probably tie your tubes at the same time even though a fertilized egg couldn't attach to your uterus if there isn't any lining.

Any doctor who's worth his medical degree will NOT perform a hysterectomy on an otherwise perfectly healthy woman, who simply doesn't want to have children or have a period.

Most doctors will require that you wait till you're at least 30 (usually more like 35), and then perform a sterilization procedure...either surgical bi-lateral tubal ligation (BTL) or trans-vaginal fallopian obstruction (also known as Essure).

The only time a hysterectomy should be performed is when a woman's future health or life is at stake...such as in cases of uterine cancer, uterine fibroid issues, heavy menstrual bleeding that is uncontrolled by means of medicine and other less aggressive procedures, etc.

It will be hard to find a doctor that will give you a hysterectomy if you aren't having health issues. More than likely they would only allow you to have your tubes tied, and that won't stop the bleeding.

You could go on one of those birth control pills that only give you a few periods a year.

Go for fallopian tube ligation instead of hysterectomy. That is a permanent procedure.

Nope, no hysterectomy! Sorry but no doctor is not going to give you a hysterectomy unless its medically needed. Heck they will barely tie your tubes at your age! The only reason they tied my tubes is because I had already had 2 children.

The risks of a hysterectomy are many. Its major surgery! You could die from the procedure alone. In time they will likely have to go tack your bladder up because it will begin to slip, causing incontinence for one thing. My Mom had that problem. All your organs and stuff can shift because the uterus that held them in place is gone. its never ,ever done just to no longer have a period.

A doctor would be a real nutcase to give you a hysterectomy on demand. Your womb plays an important part in your health - it is not just an incubator. It produces hormones to help keep you young and healthy, and plays a big part in sexual enjoyment. As for delaying periods, there are newer BC pills that can be taken for extended periods, with fewer breaks in between packs, and fewer yearly periods. Perhaps you should check with your doctor on this possiblilty.
Please, please -- never burn bridges needlessly.
