My family brought this to my attention when I was 18 because I have always had terrible periods with cramps so bad that I would be throwing up and almost immobilized for at least 2-3 days. I am 23 now and I have been seeing my physician for about 5 years and she said that I am too young to be tested to see if I have it. So I went to a gynecologist which I see for my yearly exams for a second opinion, He said that he refuses to check me for endo too. He said as long as I am on birth control that it wouldn't be getting worse anyway and he would test me when I have been trying to conceive for 1 year without being able to get pregnant. My husband and I are going to start trying to have children mid next year and to be honest I am scared I might not be able to have children and trying for a year and not being able to have them will crush me. Should I get a third opinion or am I just making too much out of nothing?

I would get another opinion. I'm 19 and my doctor told me I have the symptoms endometriosis and kept encouraging me to allow him to test me. I chose to wait until I get married and actually try to conceive.

alot of girls develop it during their teenage years. My periods started getting bad in middle school and I had two friends who developed it in early highschool.
