About heavy periods, painful ones and endometriosis?
This isn't really a question, but a comment that might help those of you who have these problems.
Ask your doctor about Meclomen - it's a medicine (non habit forming) that is designed to reduce the flow of your period. Reduced flow cuts down on the pain and other endometriosis symptoms. I went from having heavy periods to having less flow in all 7 days than I would in a few hours. It's amazing and it could possibly keep you from having to take a BCP or narcotics.
Good luck all!
I can tell you this, I used to take AT LEAST 20 Advil a day and/or 10 Aleve, sometimes a combination fo the two & my periods were just as heavy as ever. It did absolutely nothing to reduce any pain. Taking 1 or 2 of these a day is a MUCH better alternative than that, PLUS you have reduced flow which none of those other drugs can even claim to do.
Stop trying to scare people - you have no clue what it's like to deal with debilitating pain every day of your life. This is something that can help without addicting side effects. No drug comes without risks, but I can tell you I've had no side effects from this drug and I think women should know there are options to things like BCP's, narcotics and hysterectomies.
