Default What birth control pill has worked best for treating your Endometriosis?

What birth control pill has worked best for treating your Endometriosis?

I have already done Depo Provera, which was great at first, but the side effects as time went on become bad enough for me to go off of it. Suprisingly and depressingly, my monthly hell came back a month after i stopped getting the shot, and the pain was as bad as ever.

My doctor had me try Microgestin/Junel FE, which i took for 6 days and then stopped because it was making me so naseous that i couldn't go to work.

I'm about to try another pill, and i was wondering what has pill has worked best for all of you who suffer from the same problem. Have any of you taken YAZ continuously and had success with that with minimal side effects?

Thanks.

I took Yaz and it nearly killed me, but every BCP reacts differently for every person. I'd recommend reading the side effects first.
Ask your doctor about 3 month cycles. After your body adjusts and any breakthrough bleeding stops, you should be relatively comfortable. I'm currently on Seasonique, no personal side effects other than a little acne which is not normal for me, but I've only been on it for 2 months and still haven't adjusted to 3 month cycles.
Another thing you can add into the mix is Meclomen. It's an NSAID like Aleve or Advil but it actually lightens your periods - mine came to almost a screeching halt while on it. You take it at the first sign of pain, and then as needed. No addicting side effects, non-narcotic, relatively safe. With endo, less flow means less pain. You'll be amazed at how much better you feel!
You might also want to consider a laparoscopy. It's a minor surgery, leaving you with 2 incisions, 1/2 inch in size. 1 in the belly button, and one below the hair line. You can still wear a bikini and nobody will even notice your scars. Ask your doctor to CUT out the endo, not burn it off because burning it doesn't really get rid of it. Studies have shown that cutting out the endo can actually stop it from coming back. It's even more effective than hysterectomies. I wish I'd read those studies before I had my second surgery.

My doctor has me on a generic brand birth control, but it works very well for me. Its Necon 1/35... I haven't had any problems with it and it is less expensive.

I've been on Yaz for almost 2 years and it's wonderful! It was the first one my doctor prescribed to me and I haven't changed it yet. I have had no signs or symptoms of endometriosis since. Most of the time, I skip my period, but when I do, they're pretty harmless - I can stand up and go to work and school like a normal person, and the bleeding is very light. I used to have severe cramps all over my body, fevers, nausia and panic attacks during my periods, now I don't.

I've heard others say it works well and some say it makes it worst. Ask your doctor and try different ones until you find one that works.
