Certain strains of HPV cause cervical cancer. You and your partner can be tested for STDs, and that will tell you whether or not you are at risk.

It's not the semen. It's a strain of HPV (human papillomavirus) which is a variant of genital warts. You can't tell just by looking either - anyone can have HPV.

Yes it can if he's carrying the Human papilloma virus (HPV) and infects you. Most cases of cervical cancer is caused by being infected with this virus as is cancer of the prostate. You might be interested in knowing that about 5% - 8% of these 'wart' causing viruses are responsible for causing cancer. If, for some reason, the infected ejaculate should migrate further up the Fallopian tubes, it can put you at risk for a specific ovarian cancer.

I no longer have the actual figures at hand, but the wives of Vietnam veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange do have a much higher incidence of cervical cancer than the percentage rates in the general population. And the percentages I saw were not higher because the women are in an older age range, because these studies were done in the early eighties. That's something that made the high incidence so terrifying and tragic, because these were young women contracting cervical cancer.
