Default My girlfriend has HPV. What are the risks of cervical cancer?

My girlfriend went in for her annual pap smear and it came up with HPV. The doctor claims that it is only a mild case and that he can hardly see any irregularity on the cervix. What are the chances of her developing any cancers or anything?? What are the steps taken to get rid of HPV for her case?

Depends on the type of HPV virus, there are many. Once HPV comes back on your pap report and it's mild they will just continue to monitor it every 6 mos to a year. Cervical cancer is totally treatable if caught early enough. You can check out the CDC website and search HPV. They have a lot of great info.
