I would think you'd be taking it longer than one day. Do you mean you *start* taking it on day 2? Usually it's day 5 when you start, and you take it for 5 days.

It took me 18 months to get pg on Clomid and I was up to 250 mg. I took it days 5-10. I still have really long cycles of 38 days (didn't have any before it). So my ovulation day was typically around day 17.

I miscarried the first baby, took a cycle off (was 7 weeks), then took "one more round" (then I was going to quit it). I got pg again, took progesterone suppositories until week 13, and carried to term (but with many issues).

At the time, I wasn't officially dx'd with PCOS. I knew I probably had it, but Clomid would treat it anyway. Well, what I didn't know was that I also had insulin resistance, and also as I grew older, that I would get worse. I finally went to an endocrinologist after the birth of my second (naturally conceived). I was then done having kids, so I went on Avandia, monophasic bc pills, and Spironolactone. Now I rarely have any PCOS issues.

Are you doing basal body temp charting? That is *very* important while on Clomid - or you're not going to know you're ovulating and when; you won't know what doseage is correct.

Are you seeing a "regular" or reproductive endocrinologist? I would highly recommend it. Also, when you do get pg, get a referral to a perinatologist. Your PCOS puts you at high risk for pregnancy and delivery complications.

The reason I was going to stop Clomid was because it turned me into a crazy, psychotic woman...who was acting menopausal!!! We were SO glad with our second we didn't have to take it. The pg of my first sort of fixed me up for awhile, thus the conception. I delivered that baby at 22 weeks, 4 days, though - not great!
