Default For Anyone that has been on Metformin (for PCOS) to conceive......?

Did you get pregnant after being on the drug, and how long did it take you to conceive?

I am currently on metformin, I have been on it since August 31st, 2007 my cycles begin to get reguler right away on 1000mg, but it went back wack after 2 cycles, I am now on metformin 1000mg and clomid 100mg and I ovulated but did not conceive last cycle, this cycle my dr is dropping clomid to 50mg and uppering metformin to 1500mg.

What am trying to say is, every woman with pcos body response differently to drugs, some ladies would ovulate and conceive on metformin alone, but some would need the help of clomid to conceive.

We tried to get pregnant with our second child for almost 3yrs before I was diagnosed with PCOS and put on Metformin.
I was diagnosed Feb 16 2006 (started Met that day) and found out I was pregnant with our daughter on March 8, 2006...she is now 14mths old!
I started taking Met again when she was 7mths old...got pregnant the next month (miscarried) but am now pregnant again and due this August!
Metformin is truely my miracle drug!

Metformin does not help u conceive, it does help regulate your cycles, but clomid is needed for conception if u have PCOS. I conceived my bg on 100mg of clomid...

Good Luck!!

Yes. The first time it took 5 months, the second time it took 3 months but unfortunately ended in m/c.
